Leather Loving Lady

Although I love to research fashion trends and see what exciting things designers say that's 'in' for a certain season, I usually am the ultimate one to decide what I like and what I want to wear. Something that will never go out of style for me is leather!

Whether in jacket or jewelry form, I love the leather look. It toughens any outfit up and is just a classic staple to my wardrobe.

Luckily for me, the leather jacket is definitely timeless, and it seems that leather just won't go out of style. If you don't already, here are a few ways you can add leather to your look.

Pokerun Marylin Leather Jacket
While a simple leather jacket will probably never go out of style, some extra embellishments some as ribbed sleeves or extra studs might. Throw a leather jacket over any outfit to instantly toughen it up and add some edge!

If you're not comfortable with wearing completely leather pants, get some leggings with leather trim.

Pair some leather shorts with a more feminine shirt to create a softer, more glamorous look.

Boots I definitely want!
Leather Boots
Boots do almost the same thing a leather jacket does. Wear them with a skirt or over skinny jeans to bad-ass your look. Leather handbags add a simple clean look to your entire outfit. As with all leather pieces, don't shy away from color. Try things out your comfort zone every once in a while!

Color Blocking

One trend that I've always enjoyed whether in fashion or even interior design is color blocking. It basically is what it says, solid blocks of color to create one harmonious unit.

Here's an example:

Jennifer Lawrence wore this purple and orange Gucci dress for the cover of Flare magazine. The solid colors are vibrant and work well together along with the shiny fabric. The golden belt breaks the two colors up, but in a way that mutually brings them together.

Try color blocking using not only your top and bottom, but also accessories and shoes. It's easy to get this great trend down, just practice and be confident.

Post Numero Uno

This is the very first post of the.strapless.cookie. It's my new fashion blog that will hopefully highlight things that are more my style and serve as an inspiration for my designs. It also chronicles my remaining time as a fashion student at MSU. Stay tuned for more updates :)
